Trump threats hinder himself, say Republicans

O magnata e pré-candidato republicano dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump

Washington - President of the US Republican Party, Reince Priebus said Sunday that Donald Trump is making things difficult for himself in the race for the nomination of the legend to run for president of the country by threatening to run as an independent candidate if not treated precisely.

In television interviews, Priebus, who chairs the Republican National Committee, said the candidates can make such statements in the hope of gaining advantage over the party, but added that this would not work.

"These types of comments, I believe, have consequences," said Priebus ABC network. "And you make those kinds of comments and want people to follow you, but only makes it harder."

"And certainly, if you're running for president of the Kiwanis Club or Boy Scouts and say I do not know if you like the Kiwanis or the Boy Scouts, I think that makes her even more challenging to conquer these types of positions," he said. "It's no different for the Republican Party."

On Tuesday, Trump distanced loyalty pact signed in September, under which promised to support the eventual mentioned party and not compete with an independent campaign for the White House.

This pact party seems to have lost strength as the remaining rivals Trump, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, and Governor John Kasich of Ohio, they have indicated that they should not fulfill the promise if Trump is indicated.

Priebus said the candidates signed the pact as part of an agreement in which the party agreed to provide data on voters. "We hope that when candidates commit themselves to meet it," said Priebus Fox News.
