At least three people were killed and over 300 injured in Taiwan after the passage of super typhoon Dujuan, which struck on Tuesday (29) the east coast of China.
The storm caused great chaos in the northern part of the island, where almost half a million people were without power in their homes. On Tuesday, the super typhoon hit the Putian region of China, across the Strait of Taiwan, said the Chinese official news agency Xinhua.
The passage of Dujuan for Taiwan left three dead and 346 injured, mostly in traffic accidents caused by strong winds, according to the emergency services.
The wind also brought down many trees and caused landslides. According to authorities, 12,000 people were forced to flee their homes and 3,000 remain in shelters.
After passing through Taiwan, the super typhoon Dujuan was relegated to the category of typhoon moderated by the meteorological service of the island.
In August, another typhoon, the Soudelor, left eight dead in Taiwan and 21 in China.
