Al Qaeda calls 'lone wolves' to attack Western countries

he leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist group, Ayman al-Zawahiri, called on militants known as "lone wolves" for carrying out attacks on Western countries, especially the United States, and praised the recent Palestinian attacks against Israelis.

Zawahiri appeared in a video posted on Twitter and translated by the US group monitoring of jihadist websites SITE.

"The important thing is to attack the West and especially the United States in your own home, and attack their interests wherever it is," said Zawahiri, according to SITE.

"Supporters of Israel should pay with their blood and their economy," he adds.

As an example of attacks "lone wolves", he cites the 2013 bombing of the Boston Marathon, run by brothers Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzokhar that that killed three people and wounded 264.

The Al Qaeda leader also praised the attacks by Palestinians against Israelis in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
