The PT was quoted by the former director Nestor Cervero Petrobras, who accused him of participating in an embezzlement scheme involving the purchase of the Pasadena refinery in the United States.
The senator would have offered the possibility of escape Cerveró in exchange for him not to join the collaboration agreement, revealing the irregularities of operation. But still according to the columnist, conversation was recorded by a son of Cervero.
This is the first time that a senator is stuck in office in Brazil, as it is only allowed parliamentary prison in flagrant crime.
