Horse 'wrong' way and falls on the roof of a home in Cajazeiras, Paraiba, Brazil

A horse got stuck on the roof of a house in Remedios neighborhood in the city of Cajazeiras, backlands of Paraiba on the morning of Wednesday (11), and needed a crane to be rescued by the fire department.

According to Sergeant Julio Sergio de Oliveira, who led the horse rescue operation, the animal was startled when trying to leave the premises, broke several shingles and had to be sedated by a veterinary surgeon to be removed. The rescue lasted over an hour. "When we received the call, wonder at what reported in. When we arrived on the scene, found the animal caught on the roof of the house," said Sgt.

Oliveira said that no one saw as an animal landed on the roof. For him, the most likely hypothesis is that, as the property is below street level, the horse mistook the tiles with the vacant lot where the ground was feeding.

The Fire Department said no one in the house was injured, despite the scare. After the rescue, the horse was taken to the Zoonosis Center Cajazeiras, and examined by a veterinary surgeon.

The animal was uninjured. The pet owner has not been identified nor sought the horse in the Zoonosis Centre Cajazeiras.
