Justice sends Facebook stop spying on internet users who do not have account on the site

The Justice of Belgium decided to punish the Facebook social network to stop spying on Internet users through its plugins. The company needs to stop the practice in the country in 48 hours, otherwise you will be fined € 250 000 per day.

The trouble came earlier this year when a Belgian study found that Facebook takes buttons as "like" and "share" in addition to its system that allows log into other sites using credentials from Facebook, to track Internet users.

The tracking is done through a cookie that the company calls datr. It is installed on the device of all who pass by pages with plugins, even those who have no account on the website or are offline - and there are over 13 million sites with these plugins, including government.

By the time came the controversy, Facebook said that screening was caused by a bug, but now admits that he has been using the datr "for more than five years to keep Facebook safe to 1.5 billion people around the world" according to a statement echoed by The Guardian. The company intends to appeal the decision.
