
Doha 4 Nov (EFE) .- The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, defended on Wednesday in Doha that cultural traditions and different taboos that subjugate women to be overcome to further their education.
At the opening of the seventh edition of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), Obama gave an emotional and direct speech, which stressed the role of women's education.
"Our society should be able to overcome the age-old traditions that oppress women. You are experts in their respective governments, but they must be spearheads to change the mentality and open a debate on how women are viewed in society," he said .
The key, according to Michelle, is jointly address the issue of education and treatment or the role women play in society.
"Education can take the kids as far as they would have never imagined," said the first lady, who pointed out that his education was "an opportunity that a black girl would never have been able to dream" and opened the White House doors.
All the girls could have access to the passport, as well as teenagers, the most affected according to the global enrollment figures, which show that more than 62 million without formal education around the world.

This is the first visit of Michelle Obama as First Lady to Qatar, a solo tour that will also lead to the Jordanian capital Amman, where he will promote its global education initiative for girls (the girls learn LeT).
Obama was invited to officially inaugurate the WISE, along with Mozah bin Nasser, who spoke on the situation in the Middle East: "We are not only stagnant but we are going back," he lamented.
In his speech, Bin Nasser used the example of Iraq, where before the first Gulf War 100% of children were educated, which does not happen now because of the conflict.
WISE, held in Doha between 3 and 5 November, is a global platform for discussion and the production of actions that contribute to innovation in education.
