G7 calls for increased assistance to refugees in the world
G7: the summit proposes to increase this assistance, the humanitarian way, financial and development cooperation
Ise-Shima - The G7 leaders called on Friday the increase in global assistance to refugees and supported the establishment of new supported plans to ease the burden of countries that receive a large number of displaced persons.
With the number of refugees, asylum seekers, displaced and vulnerable people in its highest level since World War II, Group of Seven leaders want to face a "global challenge" with a "global response", as stated in the adopted joint statement at the end of the summit of Ise-Shima (Japan).
The leaders of Germany, Canada, USA, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom stressed the importance of resolving the situation addressing the "root causes" and the need for the international community to increase its efforts in conflict prevention, in stabilizing and promoting peace.
The G7 proposes to increase this assistance, the humanitarian way, financial and development cooperation, and asked the different actors to coordinate their actions to support the development of the affected regions - both educationally and in health and building infrastructure.
In addition, they advocated the creation of an effective management of migration schedule for 2030, paying particular attention to migration from Africa and the Middle East, and the surrounding powers to countries of origin and reception of refugees.
Leaders stressed that the Syrian crisis has revealed the need to enhance assistance to developing countries and increase the overall support for international humanitarian organizations and emergency.
In this regard, they asked the World Bank to develop a new platform that allows to increase the tools of which has to assist countries receiving refugees.
G7 leaders also encouraged the international community to accept the temporary admission of refugees and create educational and job opportunities for them in order to strengthen the future contribution of these individuals to the supported countries and the reconstruction of their countries of origin after their return.
