São Paulo-Compact, economical and quick to assemble, the Wikkelhouse is a sustainable home with surreal design, starting with the fact that it is made of unusual raw material: cardboard.

It took years to develop the technology to produce the durable material, patented by Dutch company Fiction Factory, based in Amsterdam.

The high-quality cardboard is produced from trees selected by the company, whichguarantees to perform the replanting of other change to compensate for the withdrawal of the natural resource.

A single House has 25 layers of cardboard, which are joined by a powerful glue. Shealso gets a waterproof coating, making it resistant to rain and moisture.

Finally, wood panels are applied on the layers of cardboard, leaving the House even stronger. The size of the property varies according to the customer's taste: because it is made of segments, which have 1.2 m long each, it can be expanded without limits.

According to its creators, the Wikkelhouse is three times more sustainable models of traditional residence and has high durability, of at least 100 years. Its price starts at $ 8,000.
