infrared camera shows if you're in love

Scientists have discovered that his face and his hands are warmer when you look at those who love - and want to launch a 'detector love' app.

A laboratory in Spain found that way to know if a person is in love according to the temperature of your body. Basically, when things are hot? You get too hot.

To test if love made no difference in body heat, scientists did two tests. They recruited 60 people who were dating there was little time - and at the time of overwhelming passion. To begin with, the researchers measured their base temperature after spending 20 minutes without clothes. Then, each volunteer was shot (already dressed) as he looked at three types of pictures: 1) of the respective boyfriends, 2) friends and family, 3) stressful situations that cause anxiety.

The filming was done with infrared camera or thermal imager, which shows the variation in temperature than is filming (in this case, the body of respondents). When participants saw photos of the loved one, your body temperature increased 2 ° C in very specific areas of the body: hands, cheeks, around the mouth, chest and private parts. This did not happen when they saw pictures of friends and family.

In the second test, each participant put his hand in a bucket of ice. Then he withdrew his hand as he watched the pictures again. When they saw the photo of the beloved, passionate recovering the normal temperature of the hands much faster than the default, which is 4 minutes. But when they saw stressful photos, recovery was slower than normal. This is because, according to scientists, the love causes dilation of blood vessels, while anxiety takes the same vessels to constrict.

With the popularization of thermographic cameras, the researchers hope to make available soon a mobile application that compares the temperature patterns to detect if your subject is in love or not.

The research group of the University of Granada believes that there is a heat map in our body for every human emotion. The laboratory was the same as that found our nose gets warmer when we lie, result nicknamed "Pinocchio effect".
