London will not let the EU before the end of 2016
The British Prime Minister Theresa May reiterated on Friday in Berlin that the UK will not ask to leave the European Union before the end of 2016 in order to prepare "an orderly and prudent way out."
"Do not invoke Article 50 [of the Treaty of Lisbon] until our goals are clear, which, as I said, will not happen before the end of this year," said May in reference to the mechanism to leave the bloc.
The head of the German government, Angela Merkel, in turn, said he was willing to wait until the UK has a well-defined position on its output.
"It is in the interest of all that the United Kingdom ask this output when you have a clear negotiating position," said Merkel at a joint news conference with Theresa May.
