The United States fully supports Turkey's efforts to quell the attempted coup against his government, he said on Wednesday the Secretary of State John Kerry.
Kerry, accompanied by several of his colleagues from allied countries, again stressed the US support the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a time when intensify the purges of suspected of complicity with the coup leaders.
"We condemn this coup, and we clear our desire to see democracy remain and prosper in Turkey," he said Kerry told reporters in Washignton.
The United States quickly condemned the brief military uprising last week in Turkey, but top officials not used immediately blow the term to describe what happened.
