Global warming could make the Gulf uninhabitable by 2100
A study published in the journal Nature says that by the end of this century the Persian Gulf will become uninhabitable due to severe hot flashes caused by global warming.
The region suffered one of its worst heat waves this year, with thermometers reaching 50 ° C. And the situation worsens. According to the researchers, more intense hot flashes than those recorded so far would become constant from 2070. The regions of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Iran's coastline will be threatened.
"Nevertheless, there is still time to work around this situation," said Elfatih Eltahir, lead author of the study in an article published in the journal Nature. "That will depend on the concern that the region's countries will have to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases," he add
