North Korea says it is ready for war against US

70th anniversary of the Workers Party was celebrated on Saturday.

The isolated North Korea celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Workers Party on Saturday (10) with a massive military parade watched by leader Kim Jong-Un, who said his country is ready to fight in any war waged by the United States.

"The arming of the revolutionary party means we are ready to fight in any kind of United States of waged by imperialist war," Kim said in a speech notably stronger than previous public comments, in which he also praised past leaders made and party.

He made no direct mention of the country's nuclear program, probably in a conciliatory gesture to China, which hosted six party talks, involving the United States, to give economic incentives to Pyongyang in return for disposing of its atomic ambitions.


China is the main ally of North Korea and its main trading partner, although ties have been tense because of its nuclear program.
