Point to evidence that He planted bomb in Russian plane, officials say

Evidence now suggests that a bomb planted by the Islamic State is the likely cause of the crash of a Russian aircraft Metrojet on Saturday on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, said US and European security sources on Wednesday (4 ).

The sources pointed out that have not yet reached a final conclusion about the fall of the aircraft. The Airbus A321M fell on Saturday in Sinai soon after taking off from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh towards the Russian city of St. Petersburg, killing all 224 people on board.

The Islamic state, which controls regions in Iraq and Syria and fight the Egyptian army in the Sinai Peninsula, said again on Wednesday bringing down the plane, adding that tell the world how carried out the attack.

Egypt, a close ally of the United States and the Arab country with the largest population, rejected a similar statement by the group on Saturday.

Earlier, an Egyptian source close to the investigation told Reuters that an explosion probably caused the crash of the Russian airliner in Egypt, but it was not clear whether the cause was a bomb or technical problems.

"It is believed to have been an explosion, but it is unclear what type. There is an examination of the sand on the crash site to try to determine if it was a bomb," he said the Egyptian official, who is close to the team investigating the boxes -pretas.

"There is forensic investigations being carried out at the crash site. This will help to determine the cause, see if traces of explosives are found."

The UK, which receives the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, this week, said an explosive may have caused the fall.

Sisi has described Islamic militancy as a threat to the existence of the Arab world and the West and has repeatedly called for greater global efforts to fight the militants.

The office of British Prime Minister David Cameron, who has planned meeting with Sisi in London on Thursday, said in a statement: "As more information is revealed, we were concerned that the aircraft may well have been overthrown by an explosive" .

A Russian aviation authority said on Wednesday that the investigation was examining the possibility of an object placed on board have caused the disaster.

"There are two versions being considered now:... Something placed inside (the plane) and a technical fault But the plane could not just from the air has to be some action A rocket is unlikely, since there are no signs that" said the Russian official.

Experts and researchers have said that the airplane was hardly an impact from the outside, and militants in Sinai, as it is believed, do not have the technology to bring down a plane from the cruising altitude.

A Western diplomatic source in Europe said the claim of responsibility by an affiliate of the Islamic State, a group called Sinai province, was being treated as serious.

"The theory of an explosive with the local complicity, is being taken seriously. Nothing is yet proven, but it is a real possibility," he told Reuters. (Additional reporting by Ahmed Mohamed Hassan and Gleb Stolyarov)
