An Austrian 85-year methodically destroyed nearly one million euros in large denomination banknotes before he died, in order to damage their heirs.
Notes smashed 100 and 500 euros, for a total of 950,000 euros, were discovered at the residence of the octogenarian after his death.
The elderly also destroyed their savings accounts, according to the prosecutor of the city of Wiener Neustadt, 45 km from Vienna.
The prosecution did not open an investigation because the facts "do not constitute a criminal offense."
However, the elderly revenge can fail, as the Central Bank of Austria told the Kurier newspaper that are willing to replace the torn ballots.
