Your heart beats in sync with your dog

Science proves much cuteness: when a dog and his human are together, the two hearts calm down and start to hit close together

To say that "the dog is man's best friend" has become a cliché, but it's still a hot truth. Several studies have shown that dogs feel real love for their owners, they reduce anxiety in children and that in many places, they are treated as people. To add to the list, there is little love more: in a recent study, a group of Australian scientists showed that when dog and owner are together, the two two heartbeats come into sync.

The study was as follows: three dogs were separated from their owners for a few hours, while the scientists monitored the heart rate - both the animals as people. Then the dogs and their humans were collected (still with the heart rate monitor), and surprise: less than a minute after the reunion, the hearts of the two calmed down, heart rates decreased and the rate began to mirror

And you know what's even cuter? The scientists who conducted the experiment also measured the beats while each human found another dog than him, and realized that there, the two hearts do not come into sync. Although heart rate decreases in this situation, this "cardiac mirror" only seems to happen when there is a special bond between dog and owner.

Such a study is not only lovely: it is important to find new ways to deal with stress. Previous studies have shown that those who have a dog is less stressed, less anxious and have a much better immunity. For dogs, the relationship is also useful: when they smell the owner, their brains active an area associated with pleasure, which fight diseases such as depression and anxiety (yes, they also reach the Rex, see?).

The survey was sponsored by Pedigree, food manufacturer dog, and is part of an advertising campaign called #HeartsAligned (# CoraçõesAlinhados). After released the video with the results (watch below), Australians were invited to post pictures with their dogs using the hashtag. Every post, Pedigree made a donation of $ 1 for the local organization Pet Rescue, which rescues stray dogs and place them for adoption. The goal is to reach up to $ 20,000 US dollars by the end of May - and help more dogs find their humans.
