The US Senate approved overwhelmingly on Wednesday to eliminate the veto of President Barack Obama to a law that allows victims of the 11 September 2001 attacks sue Saudi Arabia.
Senators voted almost unanimously to eliminate the veto, which suggests that there will be a similar vote in the House of Representatives.
It is the first time that this occurs with an Obama veto in his eight years as president.
