US created 160,000 jobs in April and unemployment is at 5%

                      A criação de empregos nos Estados Unidos aumentou em abril, como era esperado pelos analistas, e a taxa de desemprego também caiu
So far this year, job creation is on average 192,000 per month in the United States; in 2015, the monthly average was 229,000.

Washington - The US economy created 160,000 jobs in April, a sign that employers may be more cautious after the slowdown recorded earlier this year. The unemployment rate remained stable at 5.0%.

Analysts polled by the Wall Street Journal predicted that had been generated 205,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate stayed stable.

The revisions showed that in February and March were generated 19,000 jobs unless previously calculated. According to updated calculations, the US created 208,000 jobs in March and 233,000 in February.

So far this year, job creation is on average 192,000 per month. In 2015, the monthly average was 229,000.

The average wage per hour worked in the private sector increased by $ 0.08 in April to US $ 25.53. In the annual comparison, earnings increased 2.5% in April, stronger gain than recorded in March.


The unemployment rate remained stable, but the size of the workforce decreased, partly reversing the increases of previous months. The share of Americans who participate in the labor force decreased to 62.8% in April from 63.0% in March. Source: Dow Jones Newswires.
