Bathroom for pets is between male and female

Among the male and female bathrooms, a small sign indicates: there is a place for dog. The John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (USA), inaugurated a few days ago an exclusive area for the pets make their needs.

The environment of about 6.5 square meters, has artificial turf and a red fire hydrant to 'encourage' 'the most suspicious animals. It is in the boarding area, ie, after going through airport security control.

For owners are offered plastic bags and a hose, to leave the area quite clean for the next visitors.

It is a law in the United States

A rule of the US Department of Transportation has determined that until August this year, all airports in the country receiving more than 100,000 passengers a year must have a specific area for the needs of pets ( "pet relief area '' in English).

The rule is that there must be at least one of these areas by terminal. There are no specifications on how to be the place, but the government recommends that each airport ask advice for organizations in your area to develop the best "layout '' to pets and owners.

The reason for this rule is not only the growing number of travelers who want to take their pets along. The focus is even service animals: among them, guide dogs for the blind and therapy dogs that help people cope with the stress of flying, for example. But ... all the others are also welcome -including cats.

Bathrooms canines comfortable

It may seem new to many Brazilians, but there have toilets for dogs in several US airports. The US site PetFriendlyTravel.com together a list.

According to the site, but most is in the area prior to boarding. So, after passenger goes through security control, there is no bathroom for the pet. If the animal will stay with, it will require a whole logistics: the owner will have to leave the boarding area and then to go back, go back for monitoring. The danger is taking too long and end up missing the flight.
