Mr. Potato Head 'ugly' is weapon against waste

                  

São Paulo - You may have noticed that the vegetables and fruits "defective" always abound on supermarket shelves and in order to show crates.

That not so smooth apple, one potato not as rounded, one carrot a little crooked.

What many people do not know is that these foods are not spoiled, much less will cause illness if they are consumed.

What to do when food waste perfectly consumable is so great, just for aesthetic reasons?

Show the beautiful side of the "ugly".

In partnership with the British network Asda markets, Hasbro toy brand created a new version of the famous character "Mr. Potato Head".

In the new design of "Mr. Potato Head" (popular toy that became even more popular with the movie "Toy Story," Pixar), it is not as round and symmetrical.

Now it consists of a potato all torda and was called "Wonky Mr. Potato Head."

Hasbro is auctioning on eBay this exclusive version of Mr. Potato Head.

All the money raised will go to FareShare, an institution that takes care of distributing food to the needy.

It's five days to the end of the bid until July 3. The value is already at 220 pounds.
