Hawaii prepares an action plan for a possible intercontinental ballistic missile attack launched by Pyongyang, reports the Honolulu Star Advertiser.

According to the local authorities, the corresponding information campaign will announce the steps that have to be taken immediately, as the North Korean missile can reach Hawaii in 20 minutes.

"We do not want to cause stress, but we have to prepare for any risks. We can not delay the start of the information campaign so we can be sure that the residents of Hawaii know what to do if this happens," says the service administrator's statement Place for emergency situations, Vern Miyagi.

At the same time, representatives of the tourism industry fear that this campaign could be misinterpreted and could cause a drop in the flow of tourists, which in turn could affect the region's economy.

Charlene Chan, a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Tourism Authority, pointed out, however, that the possibility that North Korea attack is low.

In recent months, Pyongyang has conducted a series of ballistic missile launches and nuclear tests. The last release took place on July 4. Pyongyang claims to have successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile. After the launch, the Hwasong-14 missile flew about 933 kilometers in 39 minutes, reaching an altitude of 2,802 kilometers, state television reported in North Korea.
