US President Donald Trump has called for the start of an investigation into Ukraine's actions in support of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign.

Earlier, the White House accused Kiev of intervening in the presidential elections in 2016. According to Sarah Sanders, a spokeswoman for the White House, the National Committee "actually cooperated" with the Ukrainian embassy to find compromising information on rivals. Everything "is well documented," she said.

The Ukrainian embassy denied the allegations, stressing that Kiev did not take sides on either side in the US presidential race.
