Google will turn Play Music and YouTube Red into a single product
Google is the innovative solutions company, but it's not uncommon to see the company launching products that are in competition with each other. This is the case with Allo and Hangouts as well as Google Play Music and YouTube Red, the paid version of YouTube, which lets you use the app as a music streaming service. At least in the latter case, however, "cannibalism" is about to end.
YouTube music division head Lyor Cohen confirmed on Thursday that YouTube Red and Google Play Music will become a single product. It is unclear, however, whether YouTube's subscription system will be integrated with the music streaming service or whether it will lead to a new product.
It seems that the Web Giant will offer a new brand that will have the joint signing of both services. The expectation, then, is a greater availability of YouTube Red, currently offered only to users of the platform in five countries.
All in one
The novelty may sound as a great differential for both YouTube and Play Music. Combining the two signatures into a single product brings an interesting bonus to the music service in dueling against such heavyweight rivals as Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music. In addition, it adds value to the paid version of YouTube, which has not actually geared.
Have you thought about paying for a single subscription and having access to YouTube's exclusive content, get rid of advertisements and still enjoy the entire music catalog of Play Music? The fans are for this to arrive in Brazil too.
