US Army: Russia is the only country that poses a threat to our existence

General Mark Milley

US military chief of staff General Mark Milley said Moscow is threatening the interests of his country in Europe.

"Russia is the only country that poses a threat to our existence. It is an aggressive country. Russia undermines US interests in Europe, but there are also common interests," General Milley said on Thursday. "It's a fragile balance," he added.

Nevertheless, Milley stressed that the two countries are not enemies, since they do not maintain an open conflict, towards which Washington intends to continue to follow. "A contest without conflict is our desirable goal," the general said.

In this regard, he referred to China, ensuring that Beijing is also not an enemy of Washington. Speaking from Asia, Milley also referred to North Korea, which he described as a "significant threat." Iran, according to general, also enters the list of threats, as the Persian country "undermines US interests in the Middle East through various means."
