The White House's disdainful attitude towards Beijing may give poor result

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said on July 27 that North Korea could not have developed its nuclear program without foreign aid. The minister, who declined to mention any specific country, pointed out that China plays an important role in solving the North Korean problem.

Australia and the United States, for their part, do not hesitate to directly accuse Beijing. Canberra has called China's measures against Pyongyang as insufficient. Washington, in turn, cast doubt on the transparency of its Chinese allies' observation of the sanctions regime against North Korea.

Konstantin Asmolov, an analyst at the Institute of the Far East, told Sputnik about the accusations of several countries against Beijing.

"There is no concrete technical evidence to suggest that North Korea has had external support." "It's something else," said Asmolov. "The West continues to demonize North Korea."

From the interviewee's point of view, most of the international community does not accept Pyongyang's right to exercise sovereignty in a normal way.

"They call the 'regime' of Pyongyang" appalling. "But every time this" savage regime ", according to the West, shows certain advances in science or technology, they attribute everything to foreign support or claim that North Koreans Stole everything, "said the specialist from the Far Eastern Institute.

"The United States and its allies are trying to put pressure on China, but this can end badly. If they cross the border, there will be an opposite effect," Asmolov added.

Beijing, meanwhile, hints at Washington that the United States should avoid taking unfriendly steps. The Russian analyst pointed out that the American stance reflects his intention to intervene in the internal affairs of the Asian giant.

In addition, Asmolov opined that the United States adopted a wrong line regarding Beijing due to the misunderstanding in the meeting between the leaders of the two countries.

"After the meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping, the results of the meeting were misinterpreted by the US media." The kindness the Chinese showed during the closed-door meetings was viewed by the Americans as a symptom of weakness, of concession, "he said.

"The reaction of the North American side was something like this: 'Urra! We force China to accept our conditions. We convinced China that North Korea means nothing to them," the analyst quipped.

In fact, Beijing maintains its independent focus on solving the North Korean problem and cooperates with the US on this issue, but does not follow the rules of the game imposed by Washington.
