French government calls for withdrawal of nationality five 'terrorists'

Paris, Oct 6, 2015 (AFP) - French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said on Tuesday at the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) that called for the withdrawal of French nationality five "terrorists."

"I asked the Prime Minister the withdrawal of nationality to five terrorists," the minister said, without giving details about the identity of individuals.

French law allows removing the nationality of a person only when it already has another nationality and the process is done under very strict rules, little used.

The Constitutional Council, France's highest judicial body, authorized in January the withdrawal of French nationality a French-Moroccan convicted of organizing a jihadist recruitment network.
