US attack hero of the French train is stabbed in California


        

Los Angeles, Oct 8, 2015 (AFP) - One of the three Americans who helped to prevent the terrorist attack on a passenger train in Paris, Spencer Stone, was stabbed several times on Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento, California, reported local press.

 
The Air Force, which belongs Stone confirmed that the young man, 23, was wounded and taken to hospital.

 
"His condition is stable," said a spokesman for the US Air Force, Lt. Col. Christopher Karns. "The investigation was entrusted to the local police," he added.

 
The spokesman declined to comment on a possible link between the case and the train attack in Paris.

 
CBS News had indicated, without identifying its sources, that Spencer Stone was repeatedly stabbed.

 
But police in Sacramento declined to identify the wounded, but merely to say in his Facebook that a man had been taken to the hospital at 12h46 after a fight when he was in the street with a group of friends.

 
"He was stabbed several times in the torso," but "injuries do not appear to mortals," police said, indicating that no arrests had been made.

 
Police also stated on Twitter that the incident had no connection "with an act of terrorism." The facts occurred "near a bar where alcohol probably acted."
