Michelle Obama announces visit to Spain and meeting with the Queen Letizia

             
                    

Washington, June 15 (EFE) .- The first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama will visit Spain later this month, where he will meet with the Queen Letizia and deliver a speech on his campaign in favor of girls' education, announced Wednesday his office.

Before his visit to Spain, Michelle Obama will also travel to Liberia and Morocco.

The first lady held this trip by the three countries from 27 June to 1 July accompanied by her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson.

Less than ten days later, from July 9, US President Barack Obama will also visit Spain to meet with King Philip VI and the president of the interim government, Mariano Rajoy, in order to highlight cooperation bilateral security and "strong political and economic relationship," according to the White House anticipated when he announced the trip.

Michelle Obama's trip will focus on promoting its "LeT Girls Learn" initiative ( "Let the girls learn"), launched in March 2015 with the goal of providing access to education to 62 million girls and adolescents around the world They do not attend school.

In 2010, Michelle and her younger daughter, Sasha, made a private visit to Spain, during which they were received by King Juan Carlos, Queen Sofía and the then Princess Letizia at Marivent Palace on the island of Mallorca.

The last official visit by a US president to Spain was held by Republican George W. Bush in 2001.
