Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday 63 years on Wednesday (7) with an ice-hockey match in Sochi, the resort that received the latest edition of the Olympic Winter Games.
"Putin played hockey, as is traditional with old friends: famous hockey veterans and participants of the Night League, which begins its new season tomorrow," said the press the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov.
After the match, in which the Russian president acted with the shirt 11, there would be a "small celebration" with the players, Peskov said.
"I do not know that will occur later. This is a private matter, but surely he will celebrate with family and friends," said Kremlin spokesman.
Putin, red and white belt in judo (above the black) and known supporter of downhill skiing, first participated in a charity match on ice hockey in 2011. At the time, recognized that it was the first time that would practice the sport.
Since then, Russian President played several hockey matches. The last occurred on 1 September when his team, "Legends of Hockey", won 9-5 the selection of the educational center "Sirius" of Sochi, for students with talents in the arts, sports or science, created at the initiative of Putin himself.
