Youth return to the island of Breivik massacre

Thousand young Norwegian Labour Party met, on Friday, for the first camp on the island of Utoya, four years after starring massacre by Anders Behring Breivik.

Some Norwegians feel that it is too early, and even disrespectful, hold a summer camp at the site of tragedy, but young people, including some survivors of the massacre, are determined to regain the island.

"Of course there are many emotions attached to that scene, but I focus on the positive," said Ole Martin, one of the survivors of the massacre told AFP. "For me, it is important to recover the island," he said.

The head of the Labour Party, Mani Hussaini, said in his opening speech, which was nice to come back home and made only one reference to the massacre.

"July 22, 2011 will always be part of the history of Utoya, but the day will also come in the past of Utoya," he said.

The NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, who was prime minister when the massacre took place, also attended the camp and revealed in social networks was happy to agree to Utoya surrounded by young activists.
