Donald Trump will visit the UK the day after the referendum

London June 1 (EFE) .- The presumptive Republican candidate for president of the United States, Donald Trump announced on Wednesday will visit the UK to open a golf complex in Scotland on June 24, the day after the referendum on the European Union (EU).

On the day in which it is expected the outcome of the consultation on the "brexit", the politician and American businessman cut the red ribbon to officially inaugurate the Trump Turnberry luxury complex in Ayrshire County, after investing 200 million pounds (258 million euros) in its restoration.

Trump Turnberry "is my property and I am very proud of it. I wish to attend the official opening of this large complex on June 24," the Republican said in a statement.

A spokesman for Downing Street, residence and official office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, said there are no plans for now to the head of government to meet with the American businessman.

"Candidates often come to the country. We are more than happy to welcome you in this context. There are no dates set yet. There was no formal contacts," said that spokesman.

Trump stood in May in favor of the UK out of the European Union, considering that the "brexit" is the best choice for the interests of London.

The trip to Scotland will be his first visit to the UK since the British Parliament discussed in January the possibility to veto their entry to the country for his comments on Muslims.

Trump proposed ban to enter the United States all Muslims, a proposal that the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, described as "stupid", although it showed otherwise preventing entry to the UK.

The House of Commons held a debate on the issue after a request received the support of more than 575,000 signatures through internet.
