Begins Convention to officiate Trump candidacy

Donald Trump, candidato republicano às eleições americanas

The Republican Party began today (18) at the Arena Quicken Loans in Cleveland, Ohio, the National Convention to officially state the applications of billionaire Donald Trump for president of the United States and Indiana Governor Mike Pence, for the vice presidency.

The event is getting a lot of coverage of the US media and abroad. More than 15,000 accredited media outlets.

The convention, which ends Thursday (21), will also ratify the policies proposed program to be executed on a possible republican government.

Designed to be an opportunity to launch a message of optimism to the American voters, the convention faces, however, the opposition of dozens of protesters, who are at the heart of Cleveland, to protest Trump.

Using megaphones and placards, the protesters expressed concern with the ideas expressed by Trump, throughout the year, during the election campaign. According to the protesters, these ideas deepen racial divisions in a country that has seen increasing violence of blacks against police.

"This convention came just in time," said the chairman of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus, to now open the convention. He was referring to the political and economic moment the United States, which requires the adoption of measures that enhance American industry and free enterprise.

Then the delegates took the oath to the party ideas and heard the American National Anthem sung by a children's choir. Tonight, Trump will present his wife Melania to party delegates. Then Melania, who made rare appearances during the campaign, will deliver a speech .. The only time Melania spoke in public was last year, when he presented her husband in a short speech.

Melania The speech will be the beginning of a series of testimonials from personalities from the political and business world on Trump qualities. Then Donald and his wife travel to New York and do not return to the convention on Wednesday, when the names of Republican candidates will be approved.

Convention

The Arena Quicken Loans is getting 2,472 delegates of the Republican Party and over 2,302 deputies from all 50 states, the country's capital and the five territories.

And about 50 thousand people are come to visit Cleveland and support the names chosen by the Convention to run for the Presidency. To become presidential candidates, Trump and Pence need the support of the majority of delegates.
