The Democratic candidate for president of the United States, Hillary Clinton, was interviewed Saturday by FBI agents on the use of a private mail server during the period when she was Secretary of State.
The spokesman for the Clinton campaign, Nick Merrill says in a statement that the interview took place voluntarily.
According to him, the interview was not unexpected and does not suggest that Clinton or anyone has to face prosecution.
Legal experts envision a criminal case as extremely unlikely. The interview may indicate that the Department of Justice investigations are coming to an end.
