A doctor on his way to a mosque in Houston was ambushed by three masked men who attacked and killed on Sunday - the wounded, one day after a Muslim being attacked outside a mosque in Florida.
The victim of the accident in Houston, Texas, Dr. Arslan Tajammul, is an ophthalmologist of about 30, who undergoes a surgery and must survive, according to the executive director of the Board of relations between American and Islamic in Houston, Mustafaa Carroll.
The doctor had parked the car and walked to the mosque Madrasah for the first prayers of the day when it was cornered and shot twice, around 5:30 local time, said Carroll. The three responsible for the attack ran away.
"The police said it was an attempted robbery, then we are waiting to see what the investigations will conclude," Carroll said.
"It is an event really weird because the mosque is in a poor neighborhood and they were wearing masks, which can mean anything," said Carroll.
Houston Police did not immediately respond to requests for information.
