Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham is 22 and was born with spina bifida, a defect in the formation of the neural tube that causes paralysis.

He was adopted by a family of six children and uses a wheelchair since childhood.

At age 8, he was first to a skate park with his older brother. After watching it behind a fence, his brother challenged him to practice. He accepted, fell on his face on the ground, but says he was hooked.

Now, Wheelz is the only person to perform a double backflip in a wheelchair. It uses a radical motorized version, called "WCMX".

"Fear is certainly a big part of that. It's more than a common fear, it's like 'I'm going to die,'" he says.
