São Paulo - It was supposed to be just an update, but eventually became a fight. And the ugly.
Spotify, the popular music streaming platform of the moment, submitted to Apple an update of your application, but the apple company ultimately rejected the changes.
This has led one of the lawyers of Spotify to send last month, a letter to Apple, according to a report released by Recode site, stating that "the approval process for the App Store is a weapon to hurt competitors."
In the letter, Spotify says Apple rejected the update because the new version of the app needs to adapt to the company's billing system led by Tim Cook.
But for the application of the team, there is "a disturbing pattern Apple's behavior to delete and reduce the competitiveness of Spotify on iOS," which is a "rival to the Apple Music."
The apple company, however, did not leave cheap.
In a letter sent by one of the executives to Spotify, the company said that the application already violates the rules of the App Store, according to a report published by the BuzzFeed website.
"We think it's worrying you ask for exemptions to the rules, which apply to all developers," says the letter from Apple stating that Spotify is making public "rumors" and "half-truths" about the company's service.
The document, written by one of Apple's lawyers, also said that "ironically, is now Spotify you want things to be different, asking for preferential treatment."
Meanwhile...
Apple is negotiating the purchase of Tidal streaming platform Jay Z Rapper music, according to a report published last week by the Wall Street Journal.
The idea, according to the newspaper, is to bring the Tidal to strengthen Apple Music, due to the strong ties between Jay Z app and popular artists such as Kanye West and Madonna.
Spotify has about 30 million customers; already the Apple Music, 15 million.
