Former Mayor of London prepares campaign to replace David Cameron

                      



The former mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has begun to prepare the campaign for the leadership of the Conservative Party in order to replace David Cameron, who announced his departure on Friday (24), after Brexit.

According to the Telegraph, Johnson and his main rival, Interior Minister Theresa May, will announce his plans this week.

"Boris Johnson received several members of parliament in his home today (26), as it prepares the campaign to take the lead," the newspaper said. The publication also wrote that May has formed a team to run for the party leadership.

A committee of Conservative members of Parliament will meet tomorrow (27) to establish the rules for choosing the party leader. The vote will take place in September.
