Bratislava - The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said one of the goals scored by the European Union at the summit on Friday in Bratislava is "never allow the uncontrolled influx of refugees."
Thus said Tusk at the end of the summit in Bratislava that brought together all EU leaders, less United Unino, the first of its kind since the referendum in the country decided to leave the EU.
Former Prime Minister of Poland said that Europe must regain control of its borders under the principles of free movement Schengen space.
This summit, held to secure the future and the EU priorities of the 27 partners, without the UK, one of the topics was the migratory crisis.
"Never allow uncontrolled influx of refugees and put control of our new borders under the Schengen system," Tusk referred to one of these objectives.
Tusk assured that fear and insecurity suffering many European citizens is real and is an issue that must be addressed.
"The fact that millions of Europeans feel insecure is real. They are concerned about the lack of control, there are fears for emigration, terrorism and the economic and social future," he admitted.
"We are determined not to repeat past mistakes and come up with solutions in Europe of 27. Things will not be as before," he promised.
The chairman said the "sad" UK departure opened a frank discussion on the roots of the current political situation of the community club.
The leader also referred to the "road map" approved today in Bratislava, which included other issues such as refugees according to Turkey, support to countries in the fight against terrorism and achieve more economic cooperation and investments and more options for young Europeans.
