London - Two members of the Labour Party, the main legend of British opposition, presented on Friday a motion of no confidence on the leader Jeremy Corbyn, after the country decided to leave the European Union in a referendum, contrary to Corbyn position.
The motion, submitted by the parliamentary Margaret Hodge and supported by colleague Ann Coffey, calls for a debate on Corbyn leadership among the parliamentary party representatives in a meeting on Monday.
If supported in a subsequent ballot, can then generate a change of leadership.
Several party members criticized Corbyn, elected leader last year in a wave of enthusiasm for his leftist positions, for failing to persuade voters to vote for permanence.
Millions of them voted for the block output, many attracted by arguments about immigration outbound campaign.
"In a leader you need someone who can communicate a message and inspire confidence in this message, and I think he failed in both respects during the referendum campaign, so do not think he should be the leader of the party," said Coffey Reuters.
"What we saw yesterday were Labour voters tracks simply not voting for the Labour Party. Jeremy Corbyn could not connect with people who needed to attract," said Hodge told Sky News.
