Prince guitar sold for US $ 137,500 at auction
One of the most important guitars of Prince, the "Yellow Cloud", was sold for $ 137,500 during an organized auction in Beverly Hills, United States.
The guitar, which was the favorite instrument of the artist in the early 1980s and early 90s, have been bought by Jim Irsay, football team owner Indianapolis Colts, according to unconfirmed reports.
Rare are the Prince of photos period in which it does not appear with the "Yellow Cloud", bright yellow.
"This piece is as unique as the Beethoven piano or sax John Coltrane," said Garry Shrum, director of musical objects of Heritage Auctions auction house.
The singer, who died suddenly at age 57 in April, played with guitar on studio albums, shows and movies.
The "Yellow Cloud" broke during a TV show in France in 1994 and then was repaired. Then it was reserved for studio recordings.
In the same auction of Heritage Auctions, a David Bowie lock of hair was sold for US $ $ 18,750.
The wick was obtained with a former employee of the wax museum Madame Tussauds London, who created the hair Bowie statue in 1983.
