Robots to buildings-cities: how are the cities in 2045

                   Cidade do futuro

São Paulo - How will the cities in 2045? A futurologist Ian Pearson engineer named seeks that answer. For him, 3D printing and buildings equipped with artificial intelligence will be part of the big cities in just under three decades.

Member of the British Computer Society, the World Academy of Arts and Sciences and the World Innovation Foundation, Pearson is full of confidence. In his biography, he claims to have an accuracy of 85% in predicting use of technologies in the future.

Recently, Pearson wrote a report about what we can expect from the construction industry in the next 30 years. The study was a request from Hewden, a company of construction equipment. In it, the futurologist reveals how the cities will be smarter. See some of the technologies devised for him to follow.

Buildings are real cities

Pearson believes the skyscrapers will be controlled by a kind of artificial intelligence. Thus, people who live or work within these buildings can talk with the system and make requests. It would be like talking to Siri, the personal assistant of Apple, only on a much larger scale, since you could ask to change the internal temperature of a building.

The report also predicts that the skyscrapers act as minicidades - a kind of gated community on high. According to Pearson, the price of lots will be as high in the future that large buildings will be built to house a lot of people who want to live in cities - especially low and middle class workers. Within them, each floor is divided into offices, residential areas and even leisure facilities.

virtual reality windows

Instead of windows, the buildings of the future cities will have virtual reality screens. "This can be a quick way to build cheap housing," writes futurologist in the study, which was obtained by the website Tech Insider.

If you want to understand about how this would work, just watch the movie Back to the Future II. If you've seen the long, you must remember that, in addition to the "pizza hydrator," the home of the future Marty McFly has virtual reality screens in place of windows.

Special coatings and radiative heating

In the future, people can turn any place into a coating capable of collecting solar energy. According to Pearson, a spray made from nanoparticles could absorb and convert sunlight into energy.

Another interesting forecast is the direction of light and heat. People can walk inside a building with a light and own heat source, which would continue focused on the individual where he walked.

The report does not elaborate on the two inventions. However, similar technologies have already been created. One of them is Arius, a lamp created jointly by NASA and Harvard University. It mimics sunlight and is connected to the wireless Internet.

Robots and exoskeletons

The robots work side-by-side with people in the future. However, according to the report, they will replace employees when the work is high risk - especially those involved with buildings.

But do not worry, the machines will not steal your work. Pearson believed that, in reality, they will serve to further increase the productivity of the human being. An example is the use of exoskeletons for loading, bricks and other instruments into a work.

This technology is already currently in development phase. Panasonic, for example, is creating a robotic suit that facilitates the transport of heavy objects.

Furthermore, the use of 3D printing constructions will be constant in the future. The report states that the resource will grow rapidly when new forms of concrete and other materials are developed.
