The Secretary General of UNASUR, Ernesto Samper, matched on Tuesday (31) the possible election of Donald Trump for president of the United States with "the arrival of Godzilla world politics" and said he was terrified before this prospect.
In an interview with AFP in Paris, the former Colombian president (1994-98) said that Trump's election would "return to the past, raw imperialism, religious fanaticism".
And he indicated that the Unasur, the organization that brings together the twelve countries of South America, there is already a reflection on the possibility that Trump, only waiting for his formal nomination as Republican candidate for the November elections, beat the likely Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
"Of course (we are reflecting). Not only reflecting but terrified, terrified," Samper said, comparing the tycoon Godzilla, the monster for more than half a century spreads terror on the big screen.
Trump swept all his opponents in the Republican primaries, in a campaign which did not hesitate to insult women, Mexicans and Muslims. Among his promises include the construction of a wall on the Mexican border, making Mexico pay for it, and expel US 11 million illegal immigrants, mostly from Latin American origin.
The presidential candidate said in the last week have gotten the delegates needed to secure the nomination of the Republican Party for the presidential elections in November, a feat that very few considered possible a year ago.
"I am honored," Trump said on Thursday in a press conference, surrounded by several delegates announced their support in caucus, allowing you to overcome the barrier of 1,237 representatives to seal his victory.
"People who support us allowed us to overcome the barrier" the minimum number of delegates continued Trump in collective in Bismarck, North Dakota (northwest).
"I think (Trump) is what is most stingy in American politics," said Samper, also comparing the tycoon to the best-selling 1950 (adapted to film) "When brothers are facing," which satirizes the arrogance and incompetence of an American diplomat in a military intervention in southeast Asia.
Trump "is all the chapters of this book," Samper said.
Samper makes a trip to Europe that has taken him to the Vatican, where last week was received by Pope Francisco.
In France, participates in the launch of a week of Latin America and the Caribbean, parallel to a forum on the region organized by the OECD.
