Washington - The American fast food Wendy's network announced on Monday its entry into the Brazilian market with the opening of two restaurants in São Paulo.
In his entry into the Brazilian market, the network of American burgers, the third largest in the world, will be governed by Infinity Services, a company based in Sao Paulo and is responsible for the establishment in Brazil networks like Benihana and Hooters.
The company based in Dublin (Ohio) said in a statement that after the opening of these two locations in São Paulo, has "plans to expand significantly" the presence of its restaurants in Brazil in the future by Wendy's Brazil, a joint venture established in 2015 with a subsidiary of Infinity.
With this initiative, Wendy's, which has more than 6,500 fast-food restaurants in 30 countries-with the largest number in the United States-, strengthens its presence in Latin America, where it already has stores in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador , El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela.
It is planned that the two new Wendy's restaurants in Brazil to open in mid-July, the company said.
"Brazil is one of the world markets where we see considerable potential," why it was included in the international expansion strategy of the company, said in the statement Bob Wright, executive vice president of Wendy's.
