The contract value is US $ 705 million and will be included in Embraer's firm order book for the fourth quarter of 2018. According to the document, deliveries are expected to begin in 2020.

According to Embraer, along with "previous orders from E175 made by the airline, this new contract results in a total ordering of 104 model aircraft by American Airlines since 2013."

"This new order from American Airlines shows the value that airlines continue to place on our successful E175 jet," said Charlie Hills, Embraer Commercial Aviation Sales and Marketing Director for North America, the statement said.

"We are fully committed to delivering fleet solutions that have a positive bottom-line impact, and our E175 is responsible for leadership with more than 80% market share in the US market."

With this contract, Embraer has sold more than 435 E175 model jets to North American airlines since January 2013. In this way, the company controls 80% of total orders in the jet segment of up to 76 seats.

Embraer is a world leader in the manufacture of commercial jets with up to 150 seats.
