Oil tanker and cargo ship collide between France and UK
A 38,000-ton oil tanker collided with another 220-meter-long cargo ship, at 1 am GMT (GMT) in the Pas-de-Calais Strait, between France and the United Kingdom - they announced The French maritime authorities on Saturday (1st).
The collision between the two Hong Kong vessels took place in the British zone and left no casualties, officials said.
"Controlled situation, full hull, there is no risk of contamination or danger to navigation," said the maritime authorities of the Channel and the North Sea.
The ships involved in the crash were the seafrontier tanker, with 183 meters of LOA, and 23 crew on board, and the "Huayan Endeavor", unloaded and with 22 crew members.
"The 'Seafrontier' is currently in drifting drift, and the 'Huayan Endeavor' has ensured that it maintains its navigational capability," said the maritime administration.
The incident occurred on a route between Calais in northern France and Ramsgate in eastern England. The Strait of Pas-de-Calais is the most frequented sea route in the world, with more than 400 commercial ships daily.
